Christian Philosophy of Education

Our philosophy of education at Palmetto Christian School and Palmetto Preschool begins with the knowledge that God is the source of all truth (Luke 11:52; Proverbs 1:7). Since God is in all and for all, He is at the heart of our curriculum. God is our frame of reference as we learn of our surrounding world. Therefore, the Bible itself holds a position of priority in our school’ philosophy of education. Its resolve is to inspire and encourage the student of the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Its aim is to cultivate, reprove, and inspire the student to live a life that is dedicated, full of service, and dependent on God in every area (Ephesians 4:1-6).

As Scripture clearly states in Deuteronomy 6:9-12 and Proverbs 22:6, it is the sole responsibility and privilege of parents to stimulate the joy of learning for their children. Hence, it is the purpose and objective of Palmetto Christian School and Palmetto Preschool to partner with parents in providing a grounded Christian education.

SAIL ACADEMICS at PCS

PCS is proud to announce a partnership with SAIL (Specialized Academy of Innovative Learning) for the education and management of our Autistic Students (K-12th). Our academy will allow the students ‘shadow’ (i.e. paraprofessional) to sit in class with them in order to create the best possible educational and behavioral environment for the student. Here are some of the services SAIL will be available to provide for our Autistic Academy as well as for every PCS student.

PARTNERSHIPS

PCS is proud to announce a new partnership with Ebenezer Learning Center (K2-2nd grade). Located at 4111 SW 4th st (Miami, FL, 33134) the Ebenezer Learning Center has been faithfully teaching students the Gospel and serving Miami for over 60 years.

Beginning this Fall 2021 PCS will be providing transportation to our campus to students that have graduated from the Learning Center in order to continue their Christian education at PCS. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership with Ebenezer, which we hope and pray will serve as a witness to our community in regards to the Christian partnership to bless our beautiful city. ALL-NEW ONLINE ACADEMY

PCS is excited to announce the launch of its Online Academy. Beginning October 1, 2021, PCS will offer its curriculum online for parents and students who prefer the home environment for their education rather than a school classroom. This curriculum (Ignitia) both guides and adjusts to the student’s academic progress and is very ‘user friendly’ for parents to supervise. As part of your tuition payment PCS will monitor the academic progress of the student, offer any academic aid necessary, as well as allow these ‘home school’ students to attend field trips, special school activities, etc. For more information please click on the tab below and we look forward to working alongside and in partnership with you for the best possible education for your child. In 2012 Pastor Edwin, after much thought and prayer, informed the church and school board that it was time for our pre-school to take its next step forward: Elementary School. Facing an uncertain educational and financial environment with the charter schools exploding onto the school scene in Miami, the church forged ahead with a vision and mission to launch a brand new Christian School in the South Miami. A place where students could receive a ‘private Christian education at an affordable cost’.

Eight years later Palmetto Christian School is set to open 9^th-12^thgrade for the Fall of 2022. This will complete this amazing first leg of the journey and because of the faithfulness of God is already preparing to begin to add additional programs in order to enhance the educational experience for our students. It is with confidence in our God-given mission and because of God’s care over our institution that PCS forges ahead into the future in order to provide the South Miami area with a strong Christian educational experience to rival that offered by the public school system. You are invited to enroll your child in PCS and join us on this wonderful journey!

Pastor Edwin is also currently an adjunct professor at Trinity International University and also serving as a chaplain for the South Miami Police Department.
