In 2012 Pastor Edwin, after much thought and prayer, informed the church and school board that it was time for our pre-school to take its next step forward: Elementary School. Facing an uncertain educational and financial environment with the charter schools exploding onto the school scene in Miami, the church forged ahead with a vision and mission to launch a brand new Christian School in the South Miami Community. A place where students could receive a ‘private Christian education at an affordable cost’.

Eleven years later Palmetto Christian School is now a K-8 center with a specialized parallel program (The Step Forward Academy) that services students on the spectrum. This completes this amazing first leg of our journey to offer a quality Christian private school education at the very center of the South Miami community.  It is with confidence in our God-given mission and because of God’s care over our institution that PCS forges ahead into the future in order to provide the South Miami area with a strong Christian educational experience to rival that offered by the public school system. Pastor Edwin is also currently an adjunct professor at Trinity International University and also serving as a chaplain for the South Miami Police Department.
